Future of Natural & Wild Tourist Destinations in Nepal

Nepal is one of the most exotic tourist destinations in the world with splendid natural beauty and unique wildlife. Sandwiched between India and China, this south Asian Himalayan nation is an eternal paradise for all the people around the globe, delighting you with its awe-inspiring natural sites and scenery. It would be very pleasant to say if such a heavenly destination is perpetual. Unfortunately the case differs! The main threat, leading towards the destruction is no one else rather than the humans. The over exploitation of natural resources without any promising policies for conservation of environment, the pollution resulting from unplanned urbanization and the ignorant behavior of people, has led to the possible extinction of many natural heritages in the near future.
Do not get mistaken that Nepal, a landlocked nation spread around in its small territory has limited destinations. It is not only about the quality but also the quantity that Nepal has in terms of natural destinations to fulfill the desires of every tourist from all around the world. The country where the world’s highest mountain, Everest stands tall, is home to the stunning and diversified landscapes. Starting with the Himalayas from the north, the naturally beautiful land boasts eight of the world’s fourteen eight thousander peaks. The region provides the best trekking trails in the world through the Everest Base Camp, Annapurna circuits, Kanchenjunga, Langtang valleys and many more along with high mountain passes, gorges and glacial lakes like Tilicho and Gosainkunda. The tidal rivers originating from the Himalayas flow down through the wooded hills to the green plains. In fact, the country is the second richest in water resources in the whole world. Excluding these, Nepal boasts of beautiful deep valleys of Kathmandu and Pokhara in the hills, especially for sightseeing and many lakes including Rara and Phewa. The plains have huge forests, natural habitats for many unique and rare species of flora and fauna. Various Wildlife Reserves like the Chitwan National Park and Sagarmatha National Park to name a few, have been the home to these wildlife. For example, the one-horned rhinoceros, the royal Bengal tiger, spiny babbler (bird, only found in Nepal), snow leopard, Himalayan blue sheep, rare species of butterflies, birds and many more. Similarly, flora include Nepali orchids, rhododendron forests, pine trees, firs etc. Such a wide range of biodiversity in diversified lands of Nepal has left a glorified impression on the planet.
Tourism in Nepal is an important sector for the growth of GDP, national income and the overall development of the nation. The nature is free, unlike other manufacturing and construction industries, where more capital is required. In fact, tourism industry requires mainly the naturally inspiring destinations which mystically welcome global visitors. And Nepal is full of those, which enticingly fascinates and interests every person. This leads to the incoming flow of tourists in large number. The Himalayan mountainous regions where the survival alone is very difficult, it is rare to get various employment opportunities. In such a situation, tourists who visit Nepal and travel, trek or hike with the local guides and adventure leaders in the region benefit all the inhabitants directly, providing them a good source of income and sustain their livelihood. Visitors accommodating in the tea house lodges and hotels, eating in local restaurants, and other various services have uplifted the economic condition of the people. The nation whose currency is ten to hundred times lesser than most of the developed nations, those revenues in the form of foreign currency has helped a lot. Almost 8 per cent of the total GDP is generated from tourism industry. Not only the rural areas, many urban towns and cities have developed and reached the present status through the income from the industry.
Nepal has been visited by a hundred thousands of tourists every year. The trend will follow to continue if the people understand the potential this nation has and be enlightened towards the conservation of nature. Nepal is simply loved by all. The incredible smell of the lovely nature brings a sense of contentment to everyone. The beautiful scenery of mountains, rivers, lakes, hills, wildlife and all natural elements, is a virtue of the nation. It is a very good opportunity to strive through, to develop with the help of responsible tourism. The inhabitants need to be well aware regarding the activities those hamper to degradate the natural destinations. Similarly, it is the responsibility of the tourists who enjoy and travel around the country, to be self conscious not to pollute the environment. Nepal is blessed with natural beauty and it is the right of future generation to witness all of them, much better and more beautiful!!
