Romy Rigattieri
I was born, grew up and got my education in my beloved Venice. I hold a BA degree with honours in Anglo-american and Hispano-american Languages and Literature, Ca’ Foscari University, Venice. I obtained a MA degree with honours in History of Arts and Conservation of Artistic Heritage (dissertation: “A Translation and a Critical Essay of Fiske Kimball’s Domestic Architecture of the American Colonies, 1922”), Ca’ Foscari University, Venice.
My absolute passions are art and Venice: over the last years I had the opportunity to deepen my knowledge in venetian history. Venetian civilization, history, institutions and, of course, venetian art, are my main interests, but with a strong focus on the venetian figurative language of the Renaissance period, both pictorial and architectural.
Let me lead you around to show you the city, its landmarks and the places only locals know about.
With me, since I am licensed guide, you can enter historical buildings, churches and museums and this means you'll always get a true insight into the art, architecture, history and daily life of this breathtaking city.
In Italy in order to be a Tourist Guide you need to obtain a license: I am a licensed Tour Guide since December 2016 (Badge n° 184, Prov. RA), and before becoming a Tour Guide I have been a Tour Leader for six years. In Italy there is a remarkable difference between a Tour Guide and a Tour Leader: a Tour Leader accompanies groups of tourists in their tours but he is not allowed to give any artistic or historical explanation of any building, monument or city. Make sure that you get a licensed Tour Guide for your excursions in Italy.
Besides the ready made tours you'll see here, I'll obviously be glad to customize your own tour.
