“Koselig”
“Koselig” (pronounced ‘kush-lee’) is a uniquely Norwegian concept. In fact, it’s so unique that it doesn’t even have an English translation. The closest translation, some may suggest, is ‘cosy,’ but koselig goes a little further than this.
Where cosy is used to describe a sense of comfort, koselig can be used to describe anything and everything: from a house to a home-cooked meal; from a person to an item of clothing. Above all else, koselig is a feeling: that of intimacy, warmth, friendliness and contentment.
There’s so much for families to enjoy during the long Norwegian Ski season - famously wide slopes, great ski-in, ski-out accommodation plus when little legs get tired, there's plenty of other activities to keep everyone entertained, from sleigh rides to husky sledding. And when you want to take it easy there’s koselig time.
Here is our guide to making your ski trip as koselig as it can possibly be.
