Costa dell'Arnella
A charming pavé road linking Borgo Maggiore to San Marino. A metaphor of the journey, an uphill climb amid ancient medieval remnants and breathtaking scenery.
Starting from the San Marino old-town centre, from the Cava dei Balestrieri in Via Eugippo, the road leads down through Contrada Omerelli to the Porta della Rupe (Rupe Gate), the ancient entrance through the city walls linked to the Mercatale by the old road to San Marino called Costa dell’Arnella.
This charming stone footpath is lined with ferns and cyclamens and quickly brings you to Borgo Maggiore, close to the Borgo Maggiore Cable Car Station.
