Ecuador leads the top of the best countries for retirees
Thanks to its warm climate, affordable housing (for foreign retired) and plenty of natural beauty, Ecuador was appointed by InternationalLiving.com, as the world's best destination for retirees.
Ecuador, bordering Peru to the south and with Colombia at the north, head the annual overall index page as the best destination for retirees in a list of 25 best countries in this range, for which they used valuations and cost of living, entertainment, services, among others.
They were followed by countries like Panama, Mexico, Malaysia and Costa Rica, at the top of the list.
Jennifer Stevens, executive editor of InternationalLiving.com says that to the world of retirees may find important destinations all over the world, but they share certain characteristics that make them unique to this sector.
Rated destinations here have features such as security, good prices, and they are recommended for health and wellness.
Ecuador was scored 92.7 on a scale of 100 points, with top marks for its climate, the cost of rent or price of a home for senior citizens discounts on flights and
public transportation and services that the government offers to retirees.
