FLIGHTS TO ANDORRA
Andorra has no airport but the roads to Spain and France allow getting to the airports of Barcelona and Toulouse within approximately 3 hours.
In winter the major roads are quickly cleared of snow and are completely passable; however, the road from Andorra to France (RN-20-22) is sometimes closed because of risk of avalanche. When there a prediction of high snowfall, it is preferable to enter or leave Andorra by way of the Spanish border.
The optimal way to reach Andorra is through Spain from international airport of Barcelona ¨El Prat¨. Spanish low cost air company VUELING offers the cheapest flights to Barcelona from main European cities and Africa.
The airport of La Seu d’Urgell (Spain, 10km from the border with Andorra) was opened for commercial flights in the beginning of 2015.
Since april 2016 the Spanish company Andorra Airlines launches regular flights from the airport Andorra-la Seu d’Urgell to Madrid, Porto, Palma de Mallorca and Paris. At the first stage flights will be operated twice a week in each direction. Prices will vary in the range of 100-200€ one way. Ticket sales will be through the platform Amadeus (a popular app for professional sales of travel services, including booking of tickets, hotels, cruises and car rentals).
The company El Teu Soci Aeri (TSA) also offered air taxi service from the airport. TSA has a Cessna Citation II, with a capacity up for to 8 people with 3 members crew. Its operating radius is about 3,000 km away. The service now can reach Canary Islands or Northern Europe. The company has received about 15 requests to fly to destinations including Italy, England, North Africa and Spain. Prices are around € 300 to fly to Madrid and € 150 to fly to Barcelona. The TSA company considers the cost of renting of the aircraft not to be expensive and to be perfectly competitive with the prices of regular flights (or taxi services).
