Central Park is one of the most famously-known parks in the world and such recognition is certainly not undeserved! This man-made park is the ultimate playground for New Yorker's and visitors alike, receiving a whopping 25 million plus visitors annually! Many consider Central Park to be one of the finest and most beautiful public parks in the entire United States! This tremendous 843-acre oasis is overflowing with lush green lawns, colorful plantings and trees, woodsy areas and wildlife, public gathering spots, romantic alcoves, fun activities and loads of interesting places to explore! Central Park is a paradise for photographers, lovers, children, outdoorsy types, bird-watchers and anyone with an appreciation for nature, wildlife, art, beauty and fun times, regardless of age. With so much to explore and experience here, it's no wonder that Central Park is one of New York City's most popular destinations! The park has also been featured in many television shows and movie productions such as Sex And The City, When Harry Met Sally, The Out-Of-Towers, Barefoot In The Park, Taxi Driver, Love Story, Home Alone 2, Ghostbusters and literally hundreds of others. Seeing Central Park should be on your "must-see" list as it is undoubtedly one of New York City's most brilliant gems! Exploring Central Park is both recommended and encouraged regardless of the time of year visited.

Central Park's seasons:

Spring: Green buds reappear throughout the park. Azaleas, tulips, cherry blossoms and magnolias are just some of the awesome blooms that welcome visitors. The crowds have not yet returned. As the park awakens from it's cold, sleepy winter, the warmer air seems filled with promise. The chirping birds, the beauty of colorful flowers, the sweet smells of the reemerging greenery, the glow of the sun and the feel of the sun's warmth all make for a Central Park experience that will delight all senses!

Summer: Colorful hydrangeas, irises, phlox and sweet-smelling roses are a small handful of the many beautiful blooms that spring to back to life during this glorious season. Butterflies and hummingbirds have returned. Picnics, boating, special events and loads of fun outdoor activities are available to enjoy amid the lush green and now bustling park.

Fall: Fall, also known as autumn, is a favorite time for many to visit Central Park. Though darkness falls earlier, large crowds are less prevalent and the cooler, more comfortable temperatures foster longer, highly enjoyable walks that really allow one to explore the park's many fine attributes. Quite possibly the best reason for visiting the park during the fall is for it's changing foliage. Each autumn, as the cooler temperatures set in, Central Park's thousands of trees and plants erupt into spectacular display of amazing, vibrant colors. Foliage is ablaze with fiery reds, vibrant oranges and brilliant yellows. Set against a brilliant blue sky or a colorfully painted sunset bathed in the glow of warm oranges and soft pinks, a visit to Central Park in autumn will provide you with lasting memories to cherish!

Winter: Although temperatures are quite cold, a visit through Central Park in winter is both lovely and enjoyable when you dress weather-appropriate. The park takes on a serenity and magnificence that far too few tourists get to experience. With tree branches frosted over and dripping with icicles, frozen waterfalls, ice-coated lakes or bridges and pathways exquisitely blanketed by freshly fallen snow, Central Park transforms into an extraordinary still, peaceful, stunning, and truly magical place not to be missed! Winter also affords visitors the benefit of ice skating on not only one, but two Central Park ice skating rinks!

Whether enjoyed on warm days or cold ones, amid the sunshine, rain or snow, on a daytime walk or an evening stroll, Central Park is a magnificent, New York City highlight that you MUST experience! Although the park offers bike rentals and touring options via bicycle, hansome cab horse-drawn carriage and pedicab chauffeured rides, at My NY Tours, we believe that seeing the park by foot is the absolute best way to experience all of the wonderful nooks and crannies that this spectacular park has to offer! You are certain to fall in love with Central Park!

Your professionally guided 3-hr. walking tour, which covers approximately 2.25 mi. (3.62 km), leads you on an exploration which stretches from the southwestern-most regions of the park to it's mid-region, all at a leisurely pace with ample stops along the route to sit and relax while your Guide narrates, or to take photos. Throughout the tour, you'll visit some of the most beautiful bridges, archways and picturesque spots contained within this incredible park while learning of its history, secrets and pop culture.

We begin our tour from the southwestern section of the park, winding our way northeast and eventually ending our Central Park exploration on the western side of the park's mid-section, near the "Imagine" mosaic memorial and the Dakota (former home of musical legend, John Lennon).
