Description
First day: Varna Airport – Varna/Dobrich
Arrival at Varna airport. Dinner and overnight in Varna/Dobrich
Second day: Varna / Dobrich -Nessebar – Plovdiv
The path follows the south and stops at one more of the objects of the World Cultural and Natural Heritage List of UNESCO. The town–museum Nessebar is founded in 6th century BC and Situated on a small peninsula, one of the oldest European towns is extremely rich of ancient architectural monuments.
Lunch.
Drive to Plovdiv – the second Bulgarian city in population, size and significance, after the capital Sofia. Plovdiv is the 6th oldest town in Europe founded by Philip Macedonian, the father of Alexander the Great.
Dinner and overnight in Plovdiv.
Third day: Plovdiv – Bansko
A sightseeing tour of “The Old town of Plovdiv” which attracts visitors from all over the world, visit to the Ethnographical museum, housed in a beautiful old house from the Renaissance period, representing the traditions of the people from the Plovdiv region.
Lunch.
Drive to Bansko, the entrance to the most breathtakingly beautiful Bulgarian mountain – Pirin – and one of the most famous winter resorts in the country.
Dinner and overnight in Bansko.
Fourth day: Bansko – Rila monastery – Sofia
A temple of religion and culture - Rila monastery – the biggest tourist attraction among the Bulgarian monasteries with its size, architecture, murals, ancient history and beautiful nature around, included in UNESCO world heritage list of cultural monuments.
Lunch.
Dinner and overnight in Sofia.
Fifth day: Sofia – Koprivshtiza
Panoramic sightseeing tour of Sofia, one of the oldest European towns – visiting some of the Sofia's popular tourist landmarks like: the gold-domed Alexander Nevsky Cathedral, The Ivan Vazov National Theatre, The Russian church – “St. Nikolai”, the late Roman Church of Saint George (4-th century), The Sofia Synagogue - the largest in the Balkans, the Bulgarian Parliament, The Monument to the Tsar Liberator commemorating Alexander II of Russia, the early Byzantine Church of Saint Sophia (6-th century), etc.
Lunch.
Free time.
A charming walking tour in one of the most beautiful Bulgarian Renaissance settlments, a town museum full of life, harmony and beauty - Koprivshtitsa. Visit to the Oslekov’s House.
Dinner and overnight there.
Sixth day: Koprivshtiza – Kazanlak – Veliko Tarnovo
The tour continues with the Symbol of Bulgaria – The Rose. Being in the very heart of the Rose Valley - Kazanlak, it is worth a visit to the museum of the Rose.
Lunch.
A place to wish the dreams of their hearts the visitors will find in the Golden Church of Shipka just before crossing the Range of the Balkan Mountains.
The picturesque road leads to the one-of-a-kind open–air museum in Bulgaria - “Etara”, where workshops of the old Bulgarian handicrafts from the 18th and 19th century could be seen. The narrow cobblestone streets, stony fountains and old houses preserve the Bulgarian Revival period.
Departure to Veliko Tarnovo, the capital of Bulgaria during the years 1187-1393. On the way visit to the Drajnovo monastery.
Dinner and overnight in Veliko Tarnovo.
Seventh day: Veliko Tarnovo – Arbanassi – Varna
walk in the architectural preserve museum “Tsarevets” – the Palace, the Cathedral of the Patriarch etc.
Another place out of the present time is Arbanassi – open-air architectural museum, where unique monuments of civil and clerical architecture dated back to 16th-17th century are still to be seen. The sightseeing tour of the village includes the Konstanzaliev house and the Birth of Christ Church, the oldest one in Arbanassi, famous with its unique frescoes.
Departure to Varna.
Eight day: Transfer to the Varna airport.
