More tourists in Serbia in first two months of 2015
BELGRADE - In the first two months of the year, 12 percent more tourists visited Serbia than in the same period in the year before.
This data came from the National Tourism Organization of Serbia (TOS).
A total of 269,057 tourists visited Serbia in January and February, of whom 161,731 (60 percent) were domestic tourists while 107,326 (40 percent) were foreigners.
According to the TOS, almost 850,000 overnights were recorded, "seven percent more than in the first two months of the previous year."
Domestic tourists mostly stayed in mountain and spa resorts, while foreigners mostly opted to visit Belgrade and mountain resorts.
Among foreign tourists, most came from Montenegro, Bulgaria, Bosnia, Russia, Croatia, Romania, Slovenia, Italy, Macedonia, and Germany.
